The jobholder will have had academic training in Analytical Chemistry and Measurement Science beyond first degree level and hold either a Masters Degree or PhD.
He/she will be an established R&D professional with a track record demonstrating:
Substantial knowledge and experience of analytical and separation techniques including gas chromatography (GC), liquid chromatography (LC), and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). He/she will also have experience of other analytical techniques such as mass spectrometry, GC/mass spectrometry, LC/mass spectrometry and other related techniques;
An ability to develop and optimise reliable, robust and cost efficient analytical methods to separate multi-component materials and then to characterize the individual components;
An ability to prepare concise laboratory reports, present analytical results internally and to external customers, predict and troubleshoot problem areas, and write experimental protocols.
This expertise is likely to have been achieved over a period of at least 10 years since obtaining a first degree and will include at least 5 years experience in an industrial context.
