Lead the Asian R&D team in the successful development of key technology platforms, products, application capability and services in line with the Asian operational plans and strategy.
Act as a member of the Adhesives Asia and the Global Adhesives Technical Leadership Team supporting the Asian operational plans and Global growth platforms.
Assess, utilize, and optimize the capabilities of the Asian R&D team : people, technology and application understanding.
Fully and successfully implement stage-gate processes for product development in R&D and support this implementation for technical service projects.
Ensure we have access to the best technology: Gain access to knowledge resources and fill the technology pipeline via alliances within Company and suppliers, Universities, colleagues, inventors, and entrepreneurs.
Formulate research and development programs, and establish priorities for research and development projects based on commercial potential as well as technical feasibility. Proactively and periodically assess resources versus program objectives and, with the business team, make changes in resource assignments and/or program priorities to achieve fast timelines on high-priority projects.
Direct and coordinate research and development leading to new or improved products and processes.
Oversee the development of new product ideas, including the study and evaluation of their potential practicality and coordinate the initial stages of new product development, as well as modifications or design changes to existing product lines.
Nurture and refine product ideas in the early stages of development to achieve long-term survival and ultimate success.
Communicate technical knowledge and new product concepts to the key stakeholders, including the business team. Fully integrate technology knowledge, collaboration and project/program status and progress throughout the Asian business teams.

Degree in chemistry, polymer science, engineering or related technology area. Masters or Doctorate level preferred.
10 Plus years experience in research and development environment with direct responsibility for conception and technical product development with proven track record of successful commercialization of new products.
Able to communicate effectively, organize projects, and manage a research and development staff.
Prior international experience desired.
Demonstrated successful collaboration with a business team evidenced by commercialization of new products, plus excellent communication and collaboration with business team members.
